Rebecca Otte JDPSN
Teacher
Rebecca Otte JDPSN was raised on the prairie in the heart of Kansas. She began studying piano at an early age and, during college, discovered a deep calling to the nursing profession, especially in the field of obstetrics. This path led her to become a certified nurse midwife. Her growing interest in contemplative Christianity introduced her to Zen practice, which has since become her spiritual home. She co-founded the Prairyerth Zen Center in Topeka, Kansas, and later took the Bodhisattva Precepts. In December of 2020, she received inka. Rebecca raised two wonderful sons and is supported by a loving and devoted husband. Now retired from nursing, she has dedicated herself fully to the practice, study, and teaching of Zen in the Kwan Um Zen tradition.
